The Community Support Program has a committee for each of the four regions in Pennsylvania. The regional committees are made up of individuals who are involved with their local Community Support Program committees.
Each regional committee has three co-chairs representing consumers, family members, and professionals. The local Community Support Program (CSP) committees have this same co-chair composition. Each of the four regional CSP committees is divided into local CSP committees that represent a specific geographical area.
Both the regional and local Community Support Program committees provide a community-based avenue for Community Support Program principles, education, information-sharing, and for collective input on major successes and concerns regarding community mental health services. Concerns and recommendations are shared with the OMHSAS Adult Advisory Committee and may also be shared with county MH/DS offices and other organizations.
The concept of the CSP format is to not only filter information from the State Adult Advisory Committee down to regional and local CSP committees, but also for the local CSP committees to share information and ideas with regional CSP committees and the State Adult Advisory Committee.
